Sheri Wills — Biography

Sheri Wills is an artist whose work is based in film, sound and digital media. She holds an MFA in filmmaking and an MA in modern art history, theory and criticism from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been exhibited around the world, including the San Francisco Cinematheque, the London Film Festival and the International Film Festival in Rotterdam. Her work was included in "Big As Life: An American History of 8mm Films" at MoMA, and has been broadcast in high definition (HD) throughout North America. She has written art criticism for magazines such as the New Art Examiner. Her work is included in the Rizzoli book, and "Sonic Graphics: Seeing Sound," by Matt Woolman. Her collaborations include projects with music by Bright Sheng, Jan Jirásek, Lyn Goeringer and Ofer Ben-Amots and performed by ensembles such as the Providence String Quartet, Luna Nova, and Ensemble QAT in Montreal. She lives in New York City.
